Work in Progress Wednesday

I am really glad I signed up for the San Fransisco School of Needlework and Design's Burlesque Challenge.  It is due in less than a month and I feel confident that I will have all the stitching completed.  Challenges inspire me and due dates help to keep me focused.  I am having so much fun playing with the glitzy threads (donated by Kreinik) and fabrics.  However, I am not liking the row of silk ribbon flowers in the center.  I knew it as I was stitching them that they were likely going to be removed.

Beautiful stitches! I love the embroidery on the bottom block!

This challenge is perfect for you.
Why do you have to remove the ribbon flowers? I think they are fine.
I like the 'mirrored Fly stitches', is it actually a single stitch, does it have a name?
