Art Journal Page

This week the quote was "Live like a grownup, play like a child."  Love it!  I am definitely a child at heart.  I wrote I don't want to adult today, I just want to play.  Definitely how I feel most days but I am responsible enough to do the adult thing most days. It has been a while since I posted a coloring page.  It seems appropriate to do so today.  Please feel free to print and color this mandala.

Click on the top image and print it out, color it and then show me what you have done!  I really would love to see how you color this!  I used water media to color mine this week.  I went with the colors of fall. My coloring from the first week I attached to an art journal page.  The colors match way better in real life.  I like covering over the writing I do in my journals.  I don't have deep, dark secrets to hide, I am really quite shallow!  I like the writing to add visual interest and it isn't there for anyone to read.

Iridescent Stainless Steel (Coarse)by Golden and soft pastel pencils on an art journal page

I promised I would show another use for Iridescent Stainless Steel (Coarse) by Golden.  So, here is a journal page with that paint and Giconda soft pastel pencils.  The coarseness of the paint feels gritty almost like sandpaper because of that it really grabs hold of the pastels (probably any soft pastels will work).  I have not used any fixative on top of the pastels and yet I cannot rub the pastel off.  It works really well.  Let me know if you give it a try! Here is a close up.
