could you hula hoop? Did you or a friend have one and learn to use it? 
What do you remember about them?

Nope, never could master the hula hoop.  I have some for the grandkids to play with and have tried again but still not capable of it.  No worries, I can do other things!  We saw a magnificent hula hoop demonstration when we were in Hawaii.  Wow, I was impressed.  I was mesmerized! I don't know how to make one go around and those people had multiples!

I love being inspired by other stitchers.  Two that I have really been enjoying on Youtube are 

Nectarines and peaches are in season!  Yipee!  I love the wonderful fresh fruit that is available in the summer.  Such a delicious treat.

    I always forget that there are lots of stitchers to watch on YouTube - thanks for the recommendations! I love locally grown peaches, too. Yum!

    I am I awe of my younger self as she could hula hoop successfully. Last time I tried, I hurt my back! 😊

    I had a hoop and enjoyed playing with it. I doubt I would be able to make one spin at this age, though...

Slow Stitching Sunday

 I enjoyed stitching my September slice.  I got out my book by Carole Samples Treasury of Crazy Quilt Stithes.  It has wonderful combinations of stitches.  I have had this book for years and never properly used it.  It uses basic stitches in interesting combinations. So, I didn't really learn any new stitches but I did enjoy combining stitches in new ways.  I might find that more helpful in the long wrong.   The weather has still been cooperative for stitching outside.  The week ahead looks good too.  I might get a jump start on my October slice.  It is sad to think about putting away the deck furniture but it can wait at least a week. Slow Stitching Sunday

 How did it get to be December!  I really meant to fill in the big gaps in my November slice!  I still might.  We will see how it goes.  I got a lot of other stitching done in November so I guess that distracted me from this project.  There is only one slice left to stitch on this project and I find myself jumping ahead to next year. I wonder if I want to do another monthly project like this for next year.  I like having a monthly project.  I might consider doing a mixed-media instead of stitching.  Not that I couldn't incorporate some stitching into that though.  I have no clear idea at this point and that's okay.  I have to get through the holidays!   I am linking to https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/
