Painted Paper with Painted Fusible Web
This is a fun project with multiple layers of paint.  We will be experimenting with fusible web, Inktense pencils and acrylic paints. This project can just as easily be done on fabric so if that is your preferred substrate let me know and I will have fabric available for you to use.  There are some really interesting collage possibilities with this workshop.

You will become absorbed and fascinated by this meditative process.  The possibilities are limitless.

Embedded Fibres
I am sure that I am not the only one who collects interesting yarns and fibres.  This workshop is a great way to use up some of that beautiful stash.  No, you don’t need to bring any of your collection to class.  I have more than enough to share!  A lovely project will be created.  This is a project that you can take home and add stitch to it or frame as is.  There is no sewing involved in creating this project.

Altered Book as Art-Turn old books into personalized works of art.  Explore a variety of mixed media and art techniques including collage, stitch, and printmaking.   The creative possibilities are endless - go where your imagination takes you!  There will be step-by-step demonstrations and helpful tips as you're guided through the process of altering pages.  Along with that, there will be captivating ideas and inspiration for creating multi-dimensional art.

Altered Book as Journal- A book will be altered to construct a very unique journal with pages full of layers of colour for deep musings. Luscious layers will help you explore mixed-media art journaling.  Learn new art techniques using watercolour pencils, transfer foils, acrylic paint and more.  Combine your precious bits of ephemera into a truly one-of-a-kind artist's journal. Create a playground of self-expression and discovery where the idea of making mistakes doesn’t exist.

Sumptuous Surfaces
Whether you are a paper or textile artist this workshop is for you.  We will explore numerous ways to decorate your preferred substrate.  We will spend a delightful week printmaking, sun painting, spraying and generally moving colour around the surface.  We will also be adding shimmer and shine to our surfaces with transfer foil, Shiva paint sticks, and interference paints.  This workshop is the place to let your inner child come out to play and create with watercolour crayons, ink, dye sticks and so much more.
