January bead journal

I got it done.  I am pleased with the beading on this one.  I am having to be careful with how much beading I do.  I am concerned that if I do too much it will one take away from the photo and two rip the paper.  The paper is backed with fusible interfacing but it still feels slightly fragile.

  2. What a wonderful winter piece! The colors of the beads blend right in with the photo!

  3. This is the first time I've heard about your blog (from Shelly Stokes). These are Great! Is this a picture that you transferred to fabric/paper/organza... and then beaded? It's beautiful! I've been looking for a way to represent ice for an art quilt project I have had on my board for several months now. Thanks for the inspiration.

  4. What a beautiful project, or projects. It works for your BJP and your stitching. Its really beautiful, can't wait to see it finished. Are you using the shell book for your BJP?

  5. Hi Steph I would have answered by email but didn't have you address. Thank you so much for you kind words. I actually printed the photo on paper and then backed it with fusible interfacing to make it stable for beading.

  6. The photo gives your lovely piece an added dimension and depth.

  7. Try a sturdier interfacing to support your beading. Wonder Under or the gauze-like interfacings lack the support your beading needs.

  8. Wow! What an interesting piece! I love the colors.
