LeeAnna has asked What would be your favorite insect and why? think about the good or pretty insects out there not just annoying ones... did you ever capture lightning bugs in a jar as a kid? Oh, I love butterflies! They are like flying flowers. There is a butterfly conservatory in Niagara Falls where I shot these photos. There is also one closer to home. I haven't been there for a while, though. I also love dragonflies but it is harder to get a good photo of them. They are beautiful and they eat other nasty bugs! I don't think I ever captured lightning bugs in a jar. I have had some beautiful walks in the evening and seen many of them light up. It is so magical. Actually, last summer, while sitting on the deck, there were some close by. So fun. I love that we are finally getting some good weather. It is warm enough to enjoy being outside.
