just experimenting with silk pods

I mentioned in an earlier post that I scored a ton of silk pods.  Many of them are colors that I would not normally use in my art.  I decided to see if I could change color to make them more useful to me.  The ones pictured above started off yellow, you can see a tuft of yellow sticking out of the one at 6 o'clock.  I used Adirondac Color Wash in terra cotta to color these.  It worked really well.  I watered it down a bit to get a gradation of color.  That's hard to tell from this picture but it does work.
