I started this collage-style fish this week. Such a fun little project. I have no purpose for this fish at the moment but I do love an underwater theme. I love working with bright colours as well as blues and greens. I am sure I will find a fun home for this fish eventually. I am excited to start adding beads and sequins but there is more embroidery to be done first. Plus, that tail needs some work. I think I have some funky yarn that will work nicely. Oh, how I love to embellish! I am linking to https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/
How did it get to be December! I really meant to fill in the big gaps in my November slice! I still might. We will see how it goes. I got a lot of other stitching done in November so I guess that distracted me from this project. There is only one slice left to stitch on this project and I find myself jumping ahead to next year. I wonder if I want to do another monthly project like this for next year. I like having a monthly project. I might consider doing a mixed-media instead of stitching. Not that I couldn't incorporate some stitching into that though. I have no clear idea at this point and that's okay. I have to get through the holidays! It has been more than 20 years since I last went to one! I guess that means that I have outgrown them. I no longer care for rides but do enjoy the shows. It makes more sense to just go to a show! I guess I would go to one if my grandkids were going. The closest one is Wonderland and that is about an hour's drive. I like that my ideas for a book for my grandson are finally starting to come together. I have been playing with a number of different ideas that just weren't working. Finally, I have landed on something! That feels good. This book will be done with mixed media rather than textile art. Textile art is a slow process which I enjoy but I have three more grandchildren to write books for after this one! I gotta keep this mo...
