Take a stitch Tuesday

This is my first attempt at the Lock stitch.  Why do my stitches never look like Sharon's at http://pintangle.com/ ?  I do highly value being an individual and rarely do I want to be just like someone else so I guess I should celebrate that my stitches are unique!  Yah that's it!  Yay!  Me!  I learned a new stitch today!

yes definitely celebrate your unique hand work - that is why we do it after all

That's the spirit! You are YOU and although you can learn and admire others' work, you should always value your own, too.
This stitch look especially good on the background fabric you have used.

I absolutely love the way the stitch follows the curves within your background fabric. When it comes to stitching, crafts and artwork, individuality makes it all the more interesting!

Looking for Lock Stitch and found your blogpost. Your background makes me curious. Is it Tyvek? I just took a class about unusual backgrounds for embroidery and we tried Tyvek. Looks like it? I have never seen it used before.

Hi Ulla my background is painted tissue paper that was adhered to felt. Thanks for stopping by!
