Journal Page Week 27

The quote is To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow.  So do it. by Kurt Vonnegut.  I haven't been putting a lot of effort into making my journal pages beautiful.  I am okay with journal pages not being a master piece.  I am making art, maybe not well but certainly not badly.  Just okay is alright.

A good qyestion is What IS art? When you look at pieces that have been praised by art critics as 'master pieces', you will certainly among them find examples of what looks like 'anyone could have done it'. So I think ANYTHING could be art, and our work is just as valuable as the famous artist.
Another question is, why do we create art? To sell? To earn money? To earn fame? Or just for the enjoyment of it?
We bloggers might not be famous artists (yet) but certainly we enjoy being creative.

Slow Stitching Sunday

 Working on another wool mandala.  It is a pleasure to have the wool on my lap now that the weather has turned colder.  I started this project back in the summer and didn't enjoy working on it so much then.  I wonder if I can complete this project this winter.  There are fifteen wool mandalas to do.  It doesn't seem likely that I will.  I could be wrong.  I don't want to put any undue pressure on myself.  There is no deadline.  The spring might be cool enough to continue working on it.   My but I do jump into the future.  Slow stitching really helps me to be present.  I am so grateful that stitching is such a balm for my soul.  We all need to have something that does that for us.   I am linking to https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/
