Altered Book Escape

This is my altered book entitled Escape.  I created it last year and it was accepted into the show Transformations in Georgetown.  I was extremely disappointed in the way the book was displayed there.  I can understand that the curator was a bit intimidated to extend the pages.  But extended they needed to be!  Anyway, I have this book on display at the St. Jacobs Quilt and Fibre Festival.  There is a lot of fibre in this book.  The cover (which you cannot see) is a quilted butterfly.  It was great to be able to extend all the pages since I had enough space to do so.

VERY intriguing.....so nice that you've had some opportunities to share it....I can't imagine it isn't inspiring to all you view it!

What a fantastic book! I can, however, understand that it is a challenge to display, especially if there are no instructions for how to do it. I once sent an entry to a quilt show WITH the instructions for how to display it, and no one had paid any attention to it. One should always do it oneself, I guess.
Or are those butterflies unruly and want to be flying freely around the room on their own accord!
