Work in Progress Wednesday


 Here is my first attempt at the Catherine Wheel stitch.  Please check out Queenie's Needlework for the instructions.  Also, the meaning of the stitch is there as well.  It is rather disturbing.  Despite that, I could see that this is the perfect start for a mandala.  The fabric is a gorgeous piece of silk.  I am not happy with the mauve thread I used to embellish the buttonhole stitches.  I think I will take that out and do it over.

Love the fabric. I don't think I've ever tried doing a Catherine Wheel stitch.

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
