June Journal Word

A new month means a new word for the month.  I decided upon the word sacred.  I guess I should have looked up the dictionary meaning before choosing it.  The dictionary's meaning centres around religion and doctrine.  Neither of which I am a fan of.  Don't get me wrong, I am a deeply spiritual woman but I have some issues with dogma etc.  We won't go down that rabbit hole.  Sacred means something else to me and I will continue to work with this word.

Back to the art.  I printed out the word to use as a pattern.  It tucked said pattern into a page protector. I applied acrylic medium to form the letters and then sprinkled cut up sparkly thread onto it.  Once dry, I was able to remove the letters from the page protector.  The letters then needed a haircut.  I am pleased with the letters.  This challenge has been a stretch and I am enjoying that.

I love the background fabric that I created but I am thinking that it is not working well with these letters.  I need to go digging through my stash.  It should not be difficult to come up with a better option.  Once I find the right fabric I can stitch down the word.

Wow, I find it hard enough to come up with a word for the year, never mind every month. Very interesting technique; I'm always looking for ways to use up thread that does not like to go through a machine.
