I Like

I like silk.  It feels SO good!  When we were in Lake Como I bought this beautiful silk scarf.  My generous hubby didn't bat an eye at the ridiculous price.  Buying an Italian silk scarf in Italy was on my to-do list.  It will last for years and I will cherish and enjoy it.  No regrets.

I had wanted to purchase some silk for stitching but we didn't make it to any fabric stores while there.  I was disappointed but I am not one to sulk about such things.  I certainly wouldn't let it ruin a good vacation!

I like to shop at thrift stores.  You just never know what treasure you might find.  To my delight, I found this a couple of weeks ago.

Yards of gorgeous silk.  Illuminated letters like we saw in a church in Sienna.  Colours that remind me of Florence.  Utterly perfect.  There is enough to make me a scarf and have some for an art project.  All for the mere price of $4.  Happy dance!

Lee Anna has asked us about fair food this week.  I used to love getting candy apples when I was a child.  They were a special treat.  I also remember getting candy floss but not much else.  It has been forever since I have been to a fair where those sorts of things are served.  There is no way I would eat that stuff now.

That sounds like the perfect souvenir to bring home from your trip! I wouldn't eat that kind of food anymore either, but sometimes I would like just a taste. :)
