Slow Stitching Sunday

It is lovely to be playing with needle and thread again.  While away on holidays I did not have the opportunity to do so.  I brought a stitching project along but never got it out.

I have always loved a spirograph design and really enjoyed stitching this.  It is a good time to use some of my sparkly threads.  I stitched this one watercolour paper.  It works perfectly.  I think I could stitch like this on fabric if I backed it with a strong fusible support.

For now, I think I will continue to stitch on the watercolour paper though.  It is so simple!  And I love the results.

  1. I had a Spirograph when I was a kid. I loved making various designs with it. Gail at the cozy quilter

  2. Very pretty! I've seen these done in hoops but never on paper. I think it works both ways! Is this your own design or a pattern?

  3. Isn't that fun?! Did you draw lines on the background first? Or maybe it just needs dots? I'm so curious how you figured out the design!

  4. Oh, how lovely. Spirographs were my favourite thing to do as a child. I always marvelled at the incredible patterns one could draw.
