Did you take your lunch and did you use a little brown bag or have a
lunch box?

From kindergarten to grade six, I went home every day for lunch.  My school was about a block away and Mom was a stay-at-home mom.  Most kids went home for lunch back then.  I am grateful for that privilege.  In grades 7 and ,8 I had to take the school bus and bring my lunch.  The school closest to home was too full.  When I went to high school, I walked but it was too far away to go home at lunch.  I brought my lunch.  I don't remember what I used but it certainly wasn't a lunch box.  I was way too cool for that by age!

It feels good to be getting into the swing of the fall season.  Life was busy over the summer with watching my two granddaughters.  I am finding the time to get some projects finished up.  That feels good.  I am also back to yoga classes more often.  I love that my body is getting stronger and more flexible, better balance too!  All good things.

Pictured above is a marvellous leaf I found while walking with a friend.   I love a good walk with a friend!  This morning I have a walk planned with an old friend.  I also have a walk planned with a new friend this afternoon.  It is going to be a good day!

  1. That is an amazing leaf photo! I love walking with friends, too - try to do it every week. We never went home for lunch when I was growing up, but I always think that sounds so nice. As a mom, I would have liked that, too!

  3. In Sweden, having free school lunches in the canteen is the norm. These days, there seem to be several dishes to choose from, vegan and gluten-free alternatives, for example.
In high school, I asked for the vegetarian plate, which was always very good.
In Japan, it depends on the school whether you have a meal cooked in the school kitchen and served in the classroom by students (groups of children take turns) or you have to take a cooked lunch (in a lunch box, obviously) from home.
