Do you make anything special for Easter dinner? Do you use special
recipes or tableware? Do you order chocolate bunnies to give out or
keep? Do you bite the ears off first? What about hot cross buns or other
special cookies? share your recipe?

This is the first year that I am hosting Easter dinner.  My MIL has always done it in the past.  I am making a turkey.  Family members are contributing to most of the other things.  I don't want to spend all day in the kitchen.  Fair is fair.

We buy the giant Kinder Surprise eggs for our grandchildren.  They seem to enjoy them.  We usually make them hunt for them.  They enjoy that just as much.  We bought Lindor chocolates for the adults.

My hubby likes hot cross buns and usually buys a package when he does the groceries.  I am not a big fan of them.  I am happy that others in the family like to bake and will provide pies for our Easter dinner.  

I like that we have had a couple of days of lovely warm weather this week.  It was delightful to walk our dog, Banksy.  It was delightful to see the grass starting to turn green.  It was delightful to see shoots of flowers starting to come up.

   I am glad that  LeeAnna  asks these questions.  It is fun to think about the answers! did you get school clothes and shoes for the start of school? Did you look through the enormous Sears catalogue at all the possibilities and dream?  Remember going to the store with probably a mom, and trying on clothes? A shoe store for your "school shoes" Back-to-school shopping was not done in our home.  Mom bought clothes when she found a good bargain.  Mom sometimes would sew or knit for us.  We also got hand-me-downs.  We were always clean and appropriately dressed for the season.  I hated the ugly footwear she would buy for me.  I now have a very large collection of gorgeous shoes!  Lots of sparkles! My family got together this past weekend.  Cousins, aunts, and uncles all came together for a barbecue at my home.  There were 30 of us all told.  14 of which were under the age of 16.  It is lovely to get caught...

Slow Stitching Sunday

 I think my little fish is finished.  I had thought about adding beads but there is enough sparkle on this little fish.  Some loose threads need to be clipped or trapped underneath when I stitch it into its home.  I had so much fun stitching this fish that I have started another one.  I am also thinking about doing a butterfly in the same way.   They will all find a home in the right project eventually.  In the meantime, I will enjoy the slow stitching! Mandala Monday

 Often, when I create a loose and free mandala, I don't like it.  They are fun to create and that should be enough.  I am happy to say that this loose mandala is one that I do like.  It is truly a mixed media piece.  I used transfer foil, paint, crayon and markers.  So fun!
