First blog post with my Mac

Image
Not that it will look any different.  There is certainly a learning curve for working with a Mac!  I'm getting there with a little help from my friend Mary Lynn. Also with the  help of Mary Lynn I have completed my first iphoto book.  I called in Flower Portraits.  Pictured above is the photo I used for the cover.  I can't wait get the book!

Gesso on tissue paper

This is another experiment from our play day last week.  We painted both sides of a piece of tissue paper.  We used a brayer to apply the gesso as well as the paint.  It gives you a really great texture.  Some tissue give more texture than others.

where does the time go?

It is my intention to post on my blog every other day - my apologies for not doing that.  September has been flying by! I had a play day this past week with the usuals.  We enjoyed some art and some laughs.  Pictured above is some index cards we inked.  The plan is to make them into a small book.  I will post it when it gets done. It was fun to just let the ink fly.

pastels again

It is possible that I own every set of pastels made!  I don't know for sure but there is a good chance of it.  I got pretty good coverage with these Stampin Up pastels.  I also tried my sister's suggestion of using a baby wipe to apply them.  It works great!  Thanks sis!

more pastels

Here is another journal page started with pastels.  Unfortunately, you can't really see the shimmer in this picture.  I didn't get the same vivid color as with the Pan Pastels.  Maybe I should add another layer of color.

pan pastels

I wasn't going to buy them.  It was really easy to have self control when no one in the area sold them.  But now Curry's is carrying Pan Pastels and I really do love pastels.  I love the way they blend so I did it.  I purchased a five pack.  I think I can live without buying ALL the colors but I will NEED to get a few more colors.  I think I need to buy some more of the tools as well.  The tools really do help to blend the pastels nicely.

hot and sparkly!

I am really enjoying my hot summer journal!  I added some sparkly sequins to these two pages!  Don't you just the glitz!  Some people might call it garish.  I call it fun!
