Princess Bubbles Creates

Yesterday I had the pleasure of going for a bit of a hike with a dear friend.  It is lovely to have a friend that also likes to have a camera in hand.  Going for a hike with a non-photographer isn't nearly as fun.  They don't always understand the constant stopping to catch an image.  I saw some remarkable spider webs yesterday.  It was quite difficult to capture a good image of them as there was a lovely breeze.  This one isn't bad.

I hope this works.  I made this slide show for my photography club.  Unfortunately we couldn't get it to work on any of the computers at the club.  So I don't know if this will work on my blog.  It does work properly on my computer so we can hope.

I am really glad to be participating in the work in progress Wednesday at http://www.pintangle.com/    I know for certain that I would not have worked on this quilt in the last week had I not been participating.  Having a deadline really helps me.  I added this plated or folded ribbon to the block.  I wish I would have been able to add more but one thing is better than nothing.  It is a step in the right direction.

Okay, I have to say that I struggled with this one.  My first attempt is the top row in the top picture.  I just wasn't getting it, clearly.  So, I looked at another set of instructions.  Sometimes I need things explained in a different way.  The green stitching, the bottom row of the top picture shows that I finally did get.  I was then brave enough to add it to a crazy quilt block, bottom picture. I was in Bowrings on the weekend.  It is a home dec store.  I am still looking for the perfect mirror for my newly renovated bathroom.  Sigh.  I didn't get a mirror but I did find these two place mats.  Neither of which will be used for place mats.  The fancy floral one will make a nice page in a romantic fabric book I am thinking about making.  The green place mat has great texture and I will use it for rubbings and for sun printing.

As was the fun and fibres.  Yesterday I welcomed some very creative women into my home.  It was my first in home studio art workshop.  For me it was a resounding success.  I believe my students felt the same as they were all interested in returning for future workshops!  Everyone created two fibre fusion pieces.  I can't wait to see what they do with them!

Well, here is the beading.  I thought a nice curving line would add interest.
