Princess Bubbles Creates

I am just realizing that I have done a very similar photo to this one.  Still, I can't resist the appeal of the sunflower.  The beautiful curve of the petals, the sunshine yellow,  the dark shadow all beg to photographed. This butterfly has been in my head for a very long time.  I cut it out of silk a number of years ago and then it sat there.  A few weeks back I decided it has been a UFO for long enough!   I have used Inktense blocks and pencils to add some marks to it.  I have machine stitched it to an interfacing and I have done the blanket stitch around the edges.  Next up, I will be adding beads and possibly sequins.  I am ever so thankful that I get to be creative! My crazy quilt block for July is making progress.  Possibly I will get it done in the next couple of days but I am certainly not going to stress about it.  The center piece is made of paper which is pretty unusual, I know.  I don't know that I have ever seen someone use paper in a crazy quilt.  But why not!  I did back the paper with a fusible interfacing to make it more stable.  I love being creative! The texture in the leaves is what really appeals to me in this photo.  Nature is magnificent! I am having fun working on my art bra 'Fruit Cups'.  Her Cup Runneth Over Show and Auction in support of HopeSpring Cancer Support Center is coming quickly!  I need to stitch some more fruit beads along the edge but then it should be done.  I won't know for sure until I get that stitched though.
