Princess Bubbles Creates

Our New Zealand vacation was all about this guy.  My favorite man!  My sweet husband was able to cross off a number of things from his bucket list.  I am so very happy for him.  We climbed a mountain together.  Mount Dun on the south island of New Zealand.  That is one off my bucket list.  I am glad to say I have climbed a mountain and now I am done with that.  I won't say never but climbing another mountain is not high on my priorities. I am delighted to be home.  I was not homesick while in New Zealand in part because New Zealand didn't feel much different from Canada.  The people are kind and polite.  All was good.  I am very happy with my home and my life.  I am amazingly blessed and this vacation only reinforced that!

I I am having a wonderful time in New Zealand.  The warm weather feels so good!  I am not getting nearly as much stitching done as I thought I would.  However, we are doing a road trip today so I hope to do some stitching while in the car.   Pop over to  Sharon B's blog  to read an interview that I did with her.  It was very interesting to me to see the work that she chose to feature.

I haven't got a lot done on this block yet.  I plan to do the hand stitching on the plane.  Plus we have a long layover in LA so I expect I can get a lot of stitching done then as well.  I hope I can sleep tonight!  New Zealand here we come! I am linking with http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.ca/

The quote this week is 'Anyone can catch your eye, but it takes someone special to catch your heart.'  Okay so it is the week with Valentines and she was going for romantic with this quote.  Again, I wasn't keen on this quote and decided on this one.  'Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.'  Ralph Waldo Emerson. My background was done with shaving foam marbling.  The foam wasn't very foamy so it didn't work great.

I am working on a six inch block for the  The Canadian Sesquicentennial Quilt   I suspect there will be many beautiful blocks submitted.  Mine is rather simple.  I plan to fill the leaf shape with stitching and beads.  I love my country and really want to be a part of this quilt project to honour Canada! I have a good and loving husband who buys me roses for Valentine's Day.  I am embarrassed to say that I wished for different flowers!  I was thinking roses aren't that interesting to photograph.  That is not my usual attitude and I did change it quickly.  I decided to try to think of a different  way to shoot a rose.  This isn't all that original but it is different for me.
