An interactive page from a different journal.  Who doesn't love a pop-up?

I already have a very good start on my bead journal for May.  I hand dyed the doily and love the way it turned out.  This mandala series is giving me a lot of pleasure.  There seems to be no limit on them.  This morning I saw a quilt that was made with a doily-like tablecloth.  So much larger than I have been working.  That was inspiring and I will consider doing a larger piece in this way. I had a number of positive comments about the large pink beads I used so I decided to keep them.  I did add some small purple beads which I think makes it more interesting.  There isn't a ton of stitching on this piece so I may return to it and add more at some point.  For now, it is done. This fabric started out white.  I stencilled it and then did a wash of lighter blue over it.  I did some embroidery stitches with fusible thread and then adhered transfer foil to it.  The experimenting was so fun! I am linking to http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.com/

This journal is absolutely bulging.  I should probably stop using it as closing it is increasingly difficult.
