Mandala Monday

Image
Maybe this mandala isn't yet finished.  I thought when I added the butterflies it was done.  Now looking at it again I feel it needs just a bit more.  I have a tendency to stop too soon.  That isn't a huge problem because I can always return to a project.  It is easier to add more than to take away!

Slow Stitching Sunday

I have pulled out all of my wool mandalas.  I would like to get this project finished.  Some mandalas got put in the finished pile, knowing that they weren't truly finished.  I needed to see them all together to be able to tell which ones needed more.  About half of them need more work.  Not a ton more though. For this one, I added the pink bead and green embroidery near the outer edge.  That is what it needed and now it looks finished to me.  At least putting the finishing touches on these mandalas won't take terribly long!  They are a lovely slow stitching project for a Sunday afternoon.   LeeAnna  has asked what dish would you take to a fall gathering? or which dish at a fall gathering would you reach for first? I love turkey.  We have it so rarely.  I would like to have it more often.  I could also skip right to dessert for an apple cranberry pie.  I love the tartness that the cranberries add.  Yum.  I also love the finger foods.  Finger foods make any gathering good! Our Thanksgiving meal went pretty well last weekend.  We went for our usual walk in the afternoon.  We have walked in those woods for over 40 years and this year was the first time we found a puffball mushroom!  We brought it home and I fried it with butter and garlic.  It was a nice addition to our Thanksgiving meal!  I should have taken a photo of it!

Work in Progress Wednesday

I have started another butterfly.  I think I will be doing a series of butterflies!  They are so fun!  I still have some pins in this one as I am trying to finish off the first one I have started.  Starting new things is always fun, but finishing is also good!

I had been thinking that this little fish was finished.  Now, I am thinking it needs a bit of beading.  I know there are some flashy bits on her, but she needs just a tiny bit more! We celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday, so today will be a bit quieter in comparison.  Our home was filled with good people and good food yesterday and I am grateful for that.  I am also grateful for quiet Sundays for stitching! I am linking to the lovely Kathy at https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/ We had the pleasure of meeting in person this past week!  So cool!

LeeAnna  has asked as the weather starts to cool, do you have cozy clothes to start wearing? show pics! Cozy clothes are one of my favourite things about cooler weather.  This is one of my favourite sweaters. Mostly I just wear pull over hoodies around the house.  They are comfortable and cozy and easy.  I also love fluffy socks, or wool socks.  Having warm feet always feels good! I like that it is Thanksgiving here in Canada this weekend.  I love having a big turkey dinner.  I wish we had them more often!  I love the leftovers too.

My upcycling project is finished.  I had a seamstress add the lining to the back so that things could be straight.  I don't sew straight!  This project will be seen at the Wearable Art Show in Oakville in a couple of weeks.  I love the way it turned out.  I won't wear it until after the show but I can imagine feeling ever so cosy in it!
