Work in Progress Wednesday

Last one!  All of my wool mandalas are ready to be stitched onto the quilt!  I have started stitching them on and love the way it is looking.  I am pondering where to put this work of art.  I have a bed in a spare room that it would look good on.  It would have to be taken off the bed when someone comes for a sleepover.  I think my granddaughter would prefer it to stay on the bed but...

I tried out some new pencil crayons on dark paper.  They are specially formulated to work well on dark paper.  I am pleased with the results.  I think they work quite well.  I also used some metallic paint on this mandala.  It isn't the most interesting mandala so possibly I will add some more to it.

I added some pink stitches to this mandala and now feel comfortable calling it finished.  Inching closer to a finished project feels good.  Especially when the project has been going on for years.  It can be easy to get distracted.  Staying focused takes some determination on my part! We are getting our first snow.  After my yoga class this morning, I will get comfy on the couch and stitch on the butterflies I have been creating.  Having something bright and beautiful to stitch when it is cold and grey feels good. LeeAnna  has asked Do you enjoy podcasts? can you direct us to some you like? I love listening to podcasts while I stitch or make other art.  I like listening to ones that are Youtube so that I can listen to them at 1.25 or 1.5 speed.  Does that make me impatient?   I like Mel Robbins and Jay Shetty lately.  They both have interesting guests, mostly doctors or scientists who have tips for better living/thinking.   I like my family.  That sounds a bit silly but not everyone is so blessed to be able to say that.  My oldest son gave me a family photo shoot for Mother's Day.  We were only just able to do the shoot a couple of weeks ago.  Just look at those gorgeous people!  I love them! I like artist dates.  Last weekend I went out with my oldest granddaughter.  We enjoyed making art together at the local gallery.  It is such a special time for us.

Another wool mandala finished.  I found the perfect button for the very centre.  I love the way this project is progressing!

I have added some beads and now my little tree is finished.  This monthly project has been on again and off again.  Sometimes I did a couple of trees in one month and none in another month.  No worries, I will have twelve done by the end of the year.   Originally, I planned to sew these tree blocks into a scroll.  I am now wondering if I should do something else with them.   I am linking to Kathy
