Take a Stitch Tuesday

Image
The Turkman Stitch has been added to me leaf.  Thank you to Sharon B  for the instructions, again.  It seems I did this stitch three years but I promptly forgot about it.  I have every intention to use this stitch again so that it sticks in my memory.

Beading on paper

Image
I will bead and stitch on anything, at least once.  So adding beads to my own coloring page just made perfect sense to me.  First I color the image, then adhere it to fusible interfacing and then I add my stitching and beads.  I think this one needs a few more beads added to it.  Please feel free to print the coloring page for your own use. Journal page week 34

Whatever you are.. be a good one.  I don't love this quote.  I don't always feel good enough, I think we all feel that at times.  I feel like there are times when we shouldn't put the pressure of being good on ourselves.  It is okay to be mediocre.  It is okay to just enjoy the process.  This page is not good but I had fun doing it and that is fine with me.

Work in Progress Wednesday

Image
I suppose some would not consider organizing work in progress.  Organizing is definite part of my process.  I really quite enjoy it.  This week I have been organizing some of my silk threads.  I find that when they are in a skein I passover using them.  I decided to put them on bobbins so that I would actually use them.  I ran out of the little cardboard bobbins and did a search for what else I could use.  I came across some good ideas but none that I was keen to use.  I kept pondering the idea and came up with using old playing cards.  It is working really well. Take a Stitch Tuesday

Here is my Sheaf stitch, on the upper right.  I am using my hand dyed silk threads on a silk fabric.  The colors are way off and I am not sure why.  I am doing some slow, thoughtful stitching to fill in the leaf shape.  I am enjoying the process and find it quite relaxing. Thanks to  Sharon B  for the instructions.

I heart flowers and macro

Image
A fresh bouquet on my table makes me smile.  Even though I have a marvelous macro lens I wanted to explore macro with my phone.  This is the best I could get.  I am not overly happy the macro on my phone but it was worth exploring.  And I may try it again but I definitely prefer my Nikon 105 lens. Progress on my bead journal

Image
So the yellow beads were still feeling rather in my face.  I decided that if I added more yellow it all might come together.  I have added some silk ribbon roses in yellow to that end.  I think it is helping.  Still five more to stitch and then some more beads.
