Princess Bubbles Creates

 I have started another stitched mandala.  I am working on a wool base.  I do love stitching into wool.  I have used some of my threads from Sue Spargo.  Her threads are gorgeous.  Her work is so inspiring.  I noticed that I was wanting to emulate her when I started this.  That had me frozen.  It is never good for me to do that.  I have to do me.  It is the only way to be happy while stitching.   I managed to soak up some sunshine while stitching outside yesterday.  I am hoping for the same today.  My deck is so inviting on summer days.  I can't waste one! Lee Anna  and the gang are talking about ice cream again.   remember the ice cream truck driving around your neighborhood in summer? Did you go out with your money, stand in line and get a treat? Remember how it felt to go out on your own and leave with that three colored Popsicle or the chocolate coated vanilla on a stick? What was your favorite frozen treat? Is there an ice cream truck that still goes around your neighborhood? I did love getting a red, white and blue popsicle when I was a kid.  Mostly they came from the corner store and not an ice cream truck.  I remember walking to the store with empty pop bottles and getting a nickel for them.  Pop was a treat we didn't have very often.  That was a good thing really.  I could go on a whole rant about how that stuff is poison for our bodies.   On another note, I love colour!  I love bling.  The five-year-old inside me gets positively giddy about colour and bling.  Yeste...

 I started creating the floral piece thinking it would work for the Radical Botanical challenge.  Then I thought I would turn it into a book cover.  I changed my mind yet again.  It is still a book cover just for a different book.  The lower photo is the inside of the book.  There is a little more to do on the inside of the book.  The cover is rather simple and I am still debating on adding something to it.  Possibly some paint.

 Mandalas on paper are so relaxing.  Especially at this time of year.  I love to take my sketchbook and art supplies outside.  Today the weather is perfect and the breeze is calling my name.  I must resist.  I have things that need doing.   I will focus on getting those things done and my reward will be to go outside once they are done.  

 Another floofy book page.  There isn't a lot of stitching on this one.  I think it is enough though.  I like it as it is and think I will put it in the finished pile.  Of course, I can always change my mind.  I am excited to see all these pages come together into a long scroll.   I was going through some of my fabric stash this week.  I found some more bits and pieces that I want to use to create more pages.  I didn't get as much stitching done as I wanted because of going through my stash.  Oh well, it is fun to revisit the gorgeous fabric.  It makes me happy just to look at and touch it.  So fun to think of all the wonderful things that will be created!   Lee Anna  has posed these questions to us. in recognition of father's day, do you have any particular memories to share? This could be, and will be for me, a man who filled the role of father for you in any way...  I have fond memories of my step father. What about any likes about your own children if you have any, and a way they honored your husband? Or if lacking any father like men in your life, what would you like in a father?  We're looking for things we liked about kind men in our lives. My Dad loved to work with his hands.  He built the garage at our house.  He also built our cottage.  I remember him giving me a small set of tools when I was young.  I felt so grown up and was thrilled to be able to 'help' him build things. My Dad had his issues but I did feel loved by him.  I remember him reading the poem  There was a little girl,  she had a little curl,  right in the middle of her forehead,  and when she was...

  Luscious wool circles have been cut out for my next project.  I do love to stitch into wool but cutting it out was a bit of a chore.  I had to take numerous breaks to give my hands a rest.  I cut out ten more than I can use for this project.  Oops.  Oh well, I am sure I can come up with an interesting way to use them.  I would love to get this project done in time to submit it to The Grand National Quilt Show.  That doesn't seem quite realistic though and rushing would rob me of the joy of creating it.  There will likely be another show I can submit it to.
