Crazy quilt block
This block is just plain fun for me. The mermaid tail has just the right amount of shimmer to make me happy. The colours are my go-to colours. I do try to branch out from my preferred colour palette but that seems like an exercise in frustration. I am rarely happy with the result. I actually prefer to do that sort of exploration with my paper mandalas. The disappointment isn't quite as tragic as the time invested isn't as substantial.
