Work in Progress Wednesday
Progress has been made! The planets have aligned and I have been able to move forward on my upcycling project for the Fashion History Museum. I have the base of this shawl sewn together. The appliqué pieces are pinned in place. I mostly like the way it looks when lying flat. I must wrap it around my shoulders and stand in front of the mirror to see if I still like it. This challenge is to use fabric purchased from the Fashion History Museum. It is luxury fabrics that were donated to the museum. Wool, cashmere/silk blend and some interesting textures. I am enjoying playing with them! We are allowed to add some of our own fabric but only 20%. I added the bright blue silk in the centre. I have a lot of embroidery and beading to add to this piece.
