art journal page with kirigami


I love cutting paper.  I used to do scherenschnitte.  Right now I'm really into kirigami.  I have all these paper 'snowflakes' and wanted to do something with them.  I've added one to a journal page and then colored in some of the holes and onto the paper flake.


Here's a close up of the kirigami.

    Have you considered putting your kirigami snowflakes together in some way with your kaleidoscope lilies in a journal or photobook, along with some macro photos of radiating patterns in nature??? Hmmmm??? I see another themed project in the making.

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
