watercolor pencils/crayons on silk

Pictured above is beige silk.

This is the same silk that I painted with Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils.  I love that the Inktense pencils don't change the hand of silk.  Also, the shine of the silk still comes through.

The sample above is dupioni silk that was colored with Derwent watercolor crayons.  The color moved really well on the silk.  It actually works better than on paper.

    That is so cool! I had no idea watercolor pencils would work on silk. I must go get mine out, now!

    That top shot is fabulous Angie. I love all the shadows. Did you use your special lens on that one? The Doupioni looks great too. Any end project for that one in mind?

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
