A bit more stitching

I did this nature printing many years ago.  I added some silk thread stitching to it and showed it to a friend.  She loved it except for one thing.  She felt it was missing my usual sparkle.  I had to agree with her so I added a very subtle metallic thread.  It doesn't show up very well in this photo but it is there and I plan to add a bit more.

  1. I love this, Angela. The nature print turned out just beautiful, showing the delicate leaf details so well. It was a great idea to add several rows of stitiching to accent the leaf shape.

  2. I think a delicate low key print like this should not be overpowered with shiny things, a bit of sparkle from metallic tread is probably just the thing.
At quilt shows one can often see how metallic quilting thread shows up if there is a spot light directed to the quilt. An unlit area looks duller however much glittery thread there is. Focus some light on this beautiful print and it will look just perfect.

  3. The nature print is great. I experimented with this along with my students one year, and it isn't as easy as one things to get a nice print!
