Work in Progress Wednesday
I love Maggie Grey and own many of her books. Her mixed media approach to stitch is really inspiring. I have drifted away from that for the last while and would like to return to it. Maggie posted a challenge on her blog and this is my start at that challenge. I wanted to incorporate collage as I have been listening to The Jealous Curator podcast. I have dabbled with collage over the years and feel like some of my textile work is a collage.
So this is a mandala collage with found poetry. Stitch still needs to be added to it but I need to back it with fusible interfacing before I can start stitching. I used black Brusho powder on a coffee filter for the base. I love the way the black breaks out into different colours when wet.
