Work in Progress Wednesday

 

I thought I had completed this mandala weeks ago.  However, the purple fabric base was bothering me.  It seemed the right colour but somehow now quite right.  I left it in my studio so that I could ponder it.  I realized that there was just too much of the purple fabric showing.  I have added some faux gem stones and little dots of fabric paint.  This border works better I think.

    I agree, without the dotted edge there would have been too much purple. Now you have a good balance.

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
