Thank you LeeAnna for keeping us all on track with interesting questions.
I love the heat. Winters in Canada can feel interminably long so summer is always looked forward to with glee. Now, when the heat is mixed with 99% humidity then I am not so gleeful. I find myself again hibernating in the house and ever so glad that hubby insisted on A/C when we replaced the furnace.
I do try to spend at least some time outside even on the hottest days. I know I will regret it if I don't. I found that beautiful leaf last week so I know autumn is coming. I love the fall but there is always a tinge of sadness that summer is ending.
Hubby is away camping this week. I love my man and I love when he goes away. There is such lovely freedom in looking after only oneself. This week hasn't been quite so free though. I have been busy hosting doggos. Yesterday I had four of them including my own. That is my limit. I know other care providers host more but that does not appeal to me.
I did get a copy of The House of Belonging by David Whyte. Yesterday I was inspired by the line
This is the temple
of my adult aloneness
I had a few moments of quiet and wrote my own poem using that line as a jumping-off point. I quite enjoy doing that! Give it a try!
I try to be outside every day, too. If not, we might miss something beautiful like that leaf you found! Enjoy your alone time!
