Take a stitch Tuesday

This is the double lock stitch.  Instruction can be found at http://pintangle.com/2014/09/09/take-a-stitch-tuesday-129-and-130-lock-and-double-lock-stitch/    It isn't very different from the Lock stitch other than it is done on both sides of the the straight stitches.  Mine looks a little messy.  I think a thicker thread would make it look nicer.

    The Lock Stitch can change appearance with how tightly you pull the thread to 'lock' the stitches. It is one of those stitches that can look very different depending on the tension, spacing and indeed the thickness of the thread.
    Why not try it out in thicker thread and see if you like it better? On the other hand, the metallic thread on the shiny background looks great!

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
