Take a Stitch Tuesday

I struggled with this stitch.  For some reason I just couldn't get it to stick in my head.  I started out trying it on paper as is my practice this time around with Take a Stitch Tuesday.  I just couldn't get it to work.  Now I have done it on my October CQ block.  Yes, I am running behind.  At least I had time to give this stitch a try.  Pintangle

  2. I always have trouble starting out the feather and stem stitches. It looks like you got it.

  3. Some stitches are just like that - impossible to figure out! Then I always try to find the instructions in another book, and often the directions become crystal clear.

  4. I think it's one of those stitches that you have to find a back and forth rhythm to make it easy. As long as I have to think through each step, which I usually do at the start of these crossed kinds of stitches, it feels awkward and I don't like the look of it. You did a nice job on it, though, so that's what's important. Unfortunately, Mary Corbet doesn't have a video of that one. I always find it helpful to watch what her hands do.
