Journal week #50

A flower does not compete with the flower next to it, it just blooms.  A great quote.  Competition is common place in our world.  I try to not join in that struggle.  Sometimes I am successful but not always.  I am most happy when I just do my best and am not concerned with the outcome.

    One of my students once told me he didn't want to compete with his classmates, only with himself, to beat his own records. I was very impressed by that and I think it is a healthy form of competition. As for flowers, they always complement each other!
    You artwork is beautiful as always.

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
