Mixed-Media Self-Portrait Challenge

San Fransisco School of Needlework and Design hosts some really interesting challenges.  I have participated in two now.  Above is my self-portrait for the challenge.  I had a lot of fun creating this.  Pop over to their website to see the others in the challenge.  self-portrait challenge gallery  There are some really interesting pieces there.
Also, I came across this today.  Embroidered self-portraits  which I found interesting.

    What interesting portraits you all have made.
    I have seen stitching on wood before (in Sweden) but not a portrait.

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
