Work in Progress Wednesday

This is the start of my bead journal for March.  I started by creating a mandala with paper and fabric.  I stitched all together, painted it, melted/burned some of the fabric away and wet the paper so that I could rub some of it away.  I have stitched it to black fabric and added some sequins.  Lots of beads to follow!

  2. At first glance I thought you had baked and decorated a fancy cake!
It will be a grand mandala!

  3. Making mandalas is very specialized part of fibre art. Nicely done.

  4. creating mandalas is a very special part of fibre art. It's also thought to be a channel for introspection and self awareness--not that I've ever noticed that aspect of it!! Very nice work, and ti does look like a flower of fancy cake. Sort of neat that way.

  5. Thank you for your creative description. I was oer on Susan's blog and saw the picture and wondered how in the world you made that. Got a closer look and still couldn't figure it then I read your description. Now at least I can imagine it. Beautiful work. And interesting. It is fancy cake meets specimen. I wonder what it looks like IRL. Thanks for sharing!
