Now what?
This is the start of my Monthly Art Project. The parameters I have set are pretty wide open. Choose something from my pile of experiments and take it further. I will likely keep it to 6x6 inches as I have other challenges that size. I find it to be a manageable size plus some or all of them may come together into a larger project some day.
This piece is painted felted from my stash. I have machine stitched on some sheer fabric and used a heat gun to melt some of it away. I feel it is a good start but I am unsure as to what the next step is.

I think it looks good the way it is. Maybe just finish the edges and mount on a canvas? If you put all your 6x6’s together on a wall when your done I’ll bet it would really look nice.
ReplyDeleteLooking good already, you have a bit of sheen from some sequins (?) and a lot of movement in the stitches, how about colour contrast?
ReplyDeleteGreetings from South Carolina! I like the little piece but think you really can go further. Perhaps enhancing the machine stitched lines with hand stitching or beads? Perhaps couching a wire coiled into a large spiral over the entire surface? There are all sorts of possibilities when you are starting off with pleasing colors and pretty stitches. That's what "challenges" are all about ... pushing the limits! Good luck and thank you for your recent comments on my blog too! Susan
