Take a Stitch Tuesday

I really like the Bullion Knot Stitch.  I don't often remember to use it, unfortunately.  I added the Bullion to this seascape and think it works well.  I guess you can't really tell that from this photo as it is so close up.  I used some hand dyed silk thread and some regular cotton threads.

    Good contrast between the various kinds of thread. Have you ever tried to make a bullion knot with ribbon embroidery ribbon? I have just used Bullion Knots on my cq block and used a stranded silk floss, which slides easily off the needle. A 'willing' thread is the key to success.

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
