Starting another Mandala


 I used alcohol ink on a gelli plate to print this fabric.  I have added some petal shapes with a permanent metallic marker.  Next will be the beading and embroidery.  I am wanting this piece to be REALLY textural.  I hope I can pull it off!

    You know it already has some depth - when a monochrome pattern uses contrast between the lightest and darkest tone you have 'texture', a look of deep and shallow areas. How will you add more texture? Beads, buttons, gel paint, ribbon embroidery, appliqué...

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
