Slow Stitching Sunday

I have made bit of stitching progress on this mandala.  I have to be cognizant of how light weight the silk fabric is.  I suspect it will not tolerate a lot of beading.  Thus I am trying to do more silk ribbon embroidery.  It is truly delightful to stitch silk on silk.  So luscious!

Ooohhh silk on silk must feel delightful to work with!
The silk flowers really change the look of the piece!
That's such a pretty one! I've never stitched on silk, but I can imagine the lovely texture of it.

Your mandala continues to get more and more beautiful. When I am crazy quilting and doing a lot of stitches/beading, I usually add a fusible lightweight interfacing on the back, so it can hold up to the weight. Have a great week!

Good thinking. If the fabric is too weak for beading, either change to light weight embroidery, like ribbon, or stabilise the back with a piece of thin fabric, gauze or similar.
