Slow Stitching Sunday

I have made bit of stitching progress on this mandala.  I have to be cognizant of how light weight the silk fabric is.  I suspect it will not tolerate a lot of beading.  Thus I am trying to do more silk ribbon embroidery.  It is truly delightful to stitch silk on silk.  So luscious!

  3. That's such a pretty one! I've never stitched on silk, but I can imagine the lovely texture of it.

  4. Your mandala continues to get more and more beautiful. When I am crazy quilting and doing a lot of stitches/beading, I usually add a fusible lightweight interfacing on the back, so it can hold up to the weight. Have a great week!

  5. Good thinking. If the fabric is too weak for beading, either change to light weight embroidery, like ribbon, or stabilise the back with a piece of thin fabric, gauze or similar.
