Slow Stitching Sunday
I am pleased that I got this stocking done in time for Christmas. I think it turned out all right. It is rather busy with all those Christmas patterns but the lace pulls things together. Some of the fabrics hold special memories. Fabrics that were once clothing worn by family members. Also, there is a scrap of fabric from when my Mom made a very sweet Christmas dress for one of her granddaughters.
I must check in with that niece. She loves to stitch. It would be lovely to have her come for a day of stitching. I could share some of the sentimental fabrics with her! I must do that!

Beautiful finish of the stocking!
ReplyDeleteThat's really cute, Angela! I know it will be well-loved by your family!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet stocking, Angela. Even more special with the different fabrics used from different clothing worn by loved ones through the years. The different laces is a lovely touch. I think a sewing day spent with your niece is a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteIt's an adorable Christmas stocking. You are right, the lace pulls everything together. White lace also has a wintery feel about it - it reminds me of ice crystals on a window pane.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the end of the year.
