Work in Progress Wednesday

Image
I have been adding a bit of stitch to this funky piece.  I created the cloth with alcohol markers and alcohol.  It is so bright and cheerful and I am looking forward to adding more stitch to this. Take a Stitch Tuesday

Image
I love it when I have time to participate in Take a Stitch Tuesday with  Sharon B .  This week is the Buttonhole Wheel stitch.  I thought it would make perfect grapes to add to my fruit sampler.  I still need to add leaves and a stem.

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations.  I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.  Louisa May Alcott I am linking to http://image-in-ing.blogspot.ca/ https://mersad-photography.blogspot.ca

Not accepted

Image
I submitted this piece to the Quilting Arts Illumination challenge.  It was not accepted.  Rejection is never particularly easy to take.  Learning of the rejection was just the start of a particularly unpleasant day.  I volunteer to teach art to young men that are incarcerated and that afternoon they were not at their finest.  Often there is juvenile behavior, however, I don't let it bother me.  I try to concentrate on the positives but that day it just sent me into a tailspin.  I like this piece and had fun creating it so ultimately it doesn't matter that it was rejected.  I am linking to http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.ca/

Something a bit different

Image
Actually, really different for me.  I rarely use brown.  Not quite sure why I stitched this little dog onto brown felt.  I certainly could have picked a more dynamic combination of colors.  Oh well, what I particularly love about this dog is the ear.  I had a piece of beach glass that is absolutely perfect and it makes me smile.
