bead journal project
I'm not overly thrilled with the way this bead journal page turned out but it's not terrible. Hopefully, I will learn and improve.
On the bright side, yesterday I was in Toronto and went to the John Bead Corp. outlet store. Way cool! Vials of beads for twenty five cents! I stocked up. I also bought a very pretty tiara. Fun! The magpie in me was over the moon happy.
Do you believe that I live in Toronto and have never been to the John Bead store? Is the outlet the same as the regular store? I do visit Bead Fx a lot though.
ReplyDeleteI do like your January piece. Relax! You'll become more comfortable with your beading if you stop worrying about the outcome. Just go with the flow! LOL!
You're doing great, Angela! The design is lovely and the colors too... It certainly speaks of winter to me. You ARE in the right place, doing the right thing to learn more about beading. Hooooray!

Oh that sounds like a wonderful shopping trip. I wish I could find some place like that around here with that kind of amazing deals.
ReplyDeleteSo what part are you not thrilled with? I'm guessing you used paper as a medium to bead on to?? I like the way the snowflake turned out, would be a pretty neat inset for a journal cover I think :)
I think you are being too critical of your piece with words like "not terrible". I love your colors, and the "sparkle" of the piece is great! What is the background -- fabric or something else? The snowflake center focal point is perfect for this time of year!
ReplyDeleteIt looks good--beautiful colors. How did you get the sparkly background?

I loved the phrase "the magpie in me"! That's absolutely wonderful. I love sparkly things, too. And your piece, for the record, is wonderful. I love the composition.
ReplyDeleteThe background is fabric that was treated with puff paint and glitter.
ReplyDeletewarm regards

what fun you're in the bjp too. I'm having a ball with my first journal. what's up with your journal, did you envision it differently than it turned out? or are you comparing it too much to other work?
