fabric journal pages

Sorry for not posting for so long!  Don't you just hate when life gets in the way of art and blogging!

I have been taking an art journal workshop with Sandra Spagnuolo.  I can't find her web site but I am pretty sure she has one.  Above is a piece of fabric that I painted and then did a rubbing to get the wings.  On the back of the fabric I adhered some painted paper towel.  I love the texture that I got with the paper towel.  You can see it in the top picture, the right hand side.  The pages are complete yet but I think I have a really good start.

This piece is wonderful! and "Princess Bubbles" is a perfect name. I'm happy just thinking about it. Having you in my class has been a joy! See you on Saturday.

Slow Stitching Sunday

 Working on another wool mandala.  It is a pleasure to have the wool on my lap now that the weather has turned colder.  I started this project back in the summer and didn't enjoy working on it so much then.  I wonder if I can complete this project this winter.  There are fifteen wool mandalas to do.  It doesn't seem likely that I will.  I could be wrong.  I don't want to put any undue pressure on myself.  There is no deadline.  The spring might be cool enough to continue working on it.   My but I do jump into the future.  Slow stitching really helps me to be present.  I am so grateful that stitching is such a balm for my soul.  We all need to have something that does that for us.   I am linking to https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/
