Work in Progress Wednesday


Well, not really work in progress any more.  It is finished.  This altered book is full of mixed media and stitched butterflies.  Each page of the book is cut so that the butterflies can fly out of the book.  I call it 'Escape'.  I am super excited that it has been accepted into an altered book show for this fall.  Having my art accepted into a show is so validating.  It feels so very good!

    Congratulations! This butterfly book will be a crowd stopper at the show and you will have a hart time trying to stop the butterflies from fluttering away! You will have to train them to return, just like one can train pigeons.

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
