Work in Progress Wednesday

Grand Guild of Fibre Artists is doing the six-inch block challenge again this year.  We call them 'sinchies' because they are quick and easy to create.  Well, really they are not all that quick!  Some of us put a great deal of work into them.  This year we are working with one color per month but we are allowed to add black or white.  This is what I have created so far.  Unfortunately, the background looks grey, it is green but I did capture the shine of the transfer foil on the butterfly.  The transfer foil looks rather patchy because of the glitter.  Honestly, I am not very happy with it so far.  More needs to be done to make it presentable.  Or I may need to start over.  We shall see.

Hmmm, does need something. Will you be making the body stand out? That may give it the umph it needs. Thanks for sharing today!

I like where this is heading! I love challenges like this. It forces me to think outside the box and learn new things!

Beads are missing of course!

I think with a few more embellishments it's going to be a beautiful piece. Would it be within the rules of the challenge to add some mirror embroidery, say for dots on the butterfly wings? They might work perfectly with the foil.

Thanks so much for linking up to last week's Stitchery Link Party and for the link back. Aloha hugs!
