Journal Prompt #42

The journal prompt this week was to create a page with leaves.  Nina demonstrated creating a page doing leaf rubbings.  Leaf rubbings are great but I didn't want to copy her.  I drew and coloured this leaf and added a watercolour background.  The quote I used says 'How strange that nature does not knock, and yet does not intrude.'  Emily Dickinson

    I love reading blogs in autumn, there are so many beautiful illustrations of leaves and great colours!
    Nature might not knock, but surely she can intrude - think of the hurricanes and typhoons that hit your life like a battering ram used to break down your front door, or the explosive eruption of a volcano spreading smoke and oozing lava into your garden....

Slow Stitching Sunday

  I am on a scroll roll.  This is the second one I started this week.  I love the soft romantic feel of these pieces.  I love working with bright and cheerful colours but occasionally I have to play with a different set of colours.   These scrolls are coming together faster than I thought they would.  That also feels good.   Sometimes I need a project that can be completed quickly.
